a groovy North Shore couple celebrates their anniversary and their historic home’s 100th compleanno

In 1911 Isabella Stuart Gardner commissioned an Italian villa-inspired home on a rocky North Shore island.  The home’s foundation was made out of the site’s own boulderous slope so that the steps up to the house are actually carved right out of the same giant stone that forms the lower level’s walls…

…Flash forward a few decades to a hipper time when beads, peace signs and tie-dye ruled to witness another foundation’s formation: Jill and Bob’s marriage!

In celebration of these two milestones guests enjoyed an omaggio of rustic Italian fair by Spinelli’s accompanied by soft opera music floating over the grounds.  Later Fab4Ever’s energetic renditions of Beatles hits, like my personal favorite “A Hard Day’s Night”, inspired some far-out moves…
